We hired Paul and his Team to do a complete Master Suite remodel of our 1970′s brick home. Paul was extremely professional from day 1. He spent approximately 6 hours total time discussing the ins and outs of the project before we even committed to the hire. Additionally, we had some very customized ideas for the layout and details of the project. Paul and his team worked with us daily to ensure we got what we wanted. The itemization of the project was detailed and accurate. Out of all the estimates we received, Paul’s was the most comprehensive.
All the teams that came through; carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, were all extremely professional and trustworthy. This was of utmost importance for us since we have a teenage daughter. Additionally, the crew would clean every evening before leaving the space. Paul’s team worked 7 days a week to ensure the completion date was met.
Our project took approximately 3 months to complete. Though we missed the completion date due to glitches beyond his control, the end result was better than we imagined. The detail and care that was put in the project was superb as well as the quality of the work. Once the job was completed, Paul and team power washed the areas used during the construction, hauled all trash, and left the place immaculate. We are so pleased that we have hired him to do a kitchen structural project as well as second room. Special thanks to Charles, Dave, Paul and all who continue working with us.

Paul Hyde and His team remodeled two bathrooms that were completely gutted and rebuilt. Paul took care of everything from beginning to finish. Each one was done separately so that one was always functioning. The crew was very neat and careful to clean up and contain the mess. Everything was removed in each room including the walls. The electrical, plumbing and inspections were all taken care of. The entire job was done with hard work and integrity.

The big deal with Hyde Homes is it’s a very honest, straightforward operation. I recommended them to build a house for a friend of ours. After Katrina, prices went up, and builders were saying “That’s just the way it is.” But Paul had agreements with people, and he was a man of his word. I know he had to take a loss on some of those projects, but that’s just the kind of guy he is. Keep doing the same thing. We really had a good experience. He’s very straightforward and business-like. He was a good person to work with and honest. :)

We had a 50 year old bathroom with a shower/tub combination to update in approx. 275.5 square foot area. We left most of the design space as it was originally. We took out the tub and installed granite walk-in shower with bench-seating , wall shelving, rain clear glass door, hand held shower hose and wall mount shower head; replaced carpet with granite flooring through-out. Replaced faucets with single handle faucets, maple glazed cabinets with granite top and biscuit colored sinks. Took down wall mirror above sink and vanity and replaced with framed mirrors. We reduced vanity area to include floor to ceiling storage cabinet with rope night lighting above storage cabinet for mood. Removed fur down in tub and bath area, replaced florescent lighting with 3 wall fixtures to sink and vanity area and installed ceiling pot lights and replaced heat/air vents. They repainted, removed ceiling texture and retextured walls including walk-in closets and added crown molding. Rewired lighting, changed light switches to vanity and added light switch and multi switch plates. Replaced doors and repainted door frames and changed door knobs.
We used premium Baltic Brown granite on floors, shower walls with decorative trim, on top vanity and countertop, Black Galaxy granite for floor border. We used upgraded glazed maple coffee color cabinets, satin nickel faucets, shower fixtures, lighting fixtures, knobs, pulls, hooks and racks.
Paul and his employees helped us make many great choices with the benefit of their experience.
Overall, we are more than satisfied with the job done. The bathroom is a masterpiece – better than we imagined it could be.
The job completion date was extended approximately 6 weeks due to changes we requested and other issues described below. We had a few miscommunications about the process but Paul Hyde was determined to make us happy and gave us what we wanted for no additional cost or very discounted costs where additional material was required.
The office called to schedule the workers and gave us a time frame of when to expect them and they usually were there when expected.
The demo was done in about 2 days with drop cloths on the carpet and plastic curtains to keep much of the dust contained in the construction area. When demolition was going on there was termite damage that needed to be addressed before work could proceed. Replaced exterior siding, roofing, trim, replaced 2 x 4’s under interior window and painting was added to cost of job in addition to a 3 day delay. The problem dealt with quickly and satisfactorily.
Delays were also caused by unexpected time lost due to each cut of granite requiring a trip down stairs and back up, redirecting the shower plumbing, taking out the shower flooring and enlarging the shower area, having to reorder flooring for the shower with a change to the original material. We like the material better. We had a miscommunication about how high the granite wall should go in the shower. We expected it to go to the ceiling and Paul planned on going to just above the shower head. At our request, Paul ordered more granite and installed as requested. This extended the completion time for the project. We paid the extra cost for the granite but it was worth it for the overall appearance improvement. Some of the delay was also due to our planned appointments, vacations and holidays.
Many small projects were done with no added cost.
The employees were very well behaved, professional and knowledgeable. Every day the site was picked up, trash was either left for the garbage next day or driven away. All in all, we are very happy with the renovation.
